Faculty Positions

The Cell Biology Department seeks exceptional candidates at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor who wish to initiate independent research programs in the field.

Successful candidates will have Ph.D. and/or M.D. degrees and a demonstrated record of originality and productivity in research during graduate training and/or post-doctoral research, as well as well-formulated plans for independent research.  Although the focus is on tenure-track junior faculty appointments, applicants for senior faculty ranks may also be considered.  The Department will be undergoing a major expansion with the recruitment of a new Chair, Dr. James E. Rothman, and will house the newly-founded Yale Center for High Throughput Cell Biology.  All areas of basic or translational research on the mechanisms of processes occurring at cellular and subcellular levels are of interest.  However, we are especially targeting multiple appointments in each of the following fields:

Subcellular imaging – super-resolution optical microscopy, fluorescent probe/protein development, and novel electron microscopy.  These appointments may be physicists, engineers, or chemists, in addition to biologists.

Nuclear cell biology – organization and dynamics of compartments of the nucleus.

Trafficking/organelles – focus on the organization of and within cellular membranes and the compartments of the cytoplasm.

Please email your CV, list of publications, a summary of doctoral research [1 page], a summary of post-doctoral research [maximum 2 pages], and a research plan [no more than 3 pages], along with the names and addresses (including email) of three potential references to: cellbio.search@yale.edu

Applications from, or nominations of, women and minority scientists are encouraged.  Yale is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
